Behind-the-ear (BTE)
Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids, the battery compartment, microphone, and controls sit behind the ear with a clear tube connecting to the ear mould. Because the ear mold can be easily changed without having to purchase a new hearing aid, this style is often chosen for children whose ear moulds need to be changed as they grow. The casing that sits behind the ear can be purchased in various colors to match the wearer’s skin tone, hair color, or fashion choice. The BTE is for those with mild to profound hearing loss.
Receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids are similar to BTE but are even more discreet. A nearly invisible tube connects the casing to a receiver that sits inside of the ear canal. Because the receiver is smaller than an ear mould, sound is able to flow through the ear canal. RIC hearing aids also come in a variety of colors and are built for those with mild to severe hearing loss.
In-the-canal (ITC) hearing aids sit inside of the canal in a lightweight plastic shell and are custom made to fit the wearer’s ear canal. ITC hearing aids are made for moderate to severe hearing loss.
Completely-in-canal (CIC), completely-in-canal (CIC) hearings  the small custom hearing aids available. Extraction cords are usually fitted to CIC hearing aids to help insert and remove them from the ear. Now available in 312 size batteries, which help to increase the battery life if the hearing aid.
Invisible-in-canal (IIC) hearing aids are the smallest custom hearing aids available. They are designed and sculptured to fit entirely inside your ear canal (external auditory meatus) and are therefore almost, if not completely, invisible. IIC hearing aids house a size 10 battery.
Rechargeable hearing aids are fully featured hearing aids with a built in Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The rechargeable hearing aids offers 24 hours* of battery life on a single charge. Earlier all the hearing aid were disposable battery operated, where battery need to be replaced in 15 days. Rechargeable hearing aid is now available in two Style of hearing aids BTE & RIC
An earplug is a device that is inserted in the ear canal to protect the user’s ears from loud noises, intrusion of water, foreign bodies, dust or excessive wind. Since they reduce the sound volume, earplugs are often used to help prevent hearing loss due to loud sound. Customized ear plug are also available.

Earmolds are made of either plastic or silicone and custom-fit so that they sit snugly and precisely within the ear canal. They generally have small vents in them to let air through. Dome styles, which look like small cones, are not customized to a person’s individual ear shape. This is of two type, one is soft mould and other is hard mould.
